Note: If clothing is not purchased before this deadline, then you will not have the mandatory clothing needed to begin band. Please come prepared. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MEET ALL DEADLINES.

Percussionists (ZIT) will need to place their required clothing order on Sunday, August 13th.

Percussionists may order optional items that DO NOT require personalization. The object of this is to alleviate any issues with a person ordering personalized percussion items and then not being chosen for the drum line. Required clothing will be available for purchase on Sunday, August 13th, after you have been chosen for a place on the drum line.

EVERYONE is required to fill out the information below.

ALL NEW members of the band must purchase gloves, spats, and visor.

Returning members: if spats and visor are in GOOD shape, only need to purchase new gloves.

If you do not see your sizes listed, please send an email to debbie.holt@ttu.edu as soon as possible with your exact chest and waist in inches. (This is for both jacket and pants.)

If you are a twirler, color guard member, or want to be a percussionist, then you do not purchase gloves.

Gloves with open fingertips are required for all piccolos and clarinets.

Instructional Mini-Camps
 

We offer optional instructional mini-camps each summer to give all potential members an opportunity to learn our marching techniques before summer band. Although they are not required, they are strongly encouraged if you hope to be a contributing member of our band program. During this mini-camp, we will introduce our:
  •Pre-Game Show fundamentals, which are considerably different from your high school experience, yet one of the most enjoyable parts of your collegiate marching band experience.
  •Corps-Style marching fundamentals, which include forward and backwards march, slides and step-outs.

Although we take every precaution to contribute to the health and well being of our students, it is ultimately up to the individual student to be in charge of their physical health and well being (i.e., eating properly, staying hydrated, etc.). TTU System Student/Participant Release and Indemnity Agreement
 

I, the undersigned, understand and agree that the officially-sponsored activities of Texas Tech University involve certain known risks, including but not limited to, transportation accidents, personal injuries, and loss or destruction of my property. I understand and agree that Texas Tech University cannot be expected to control all of said risks. In consideration of the benefits I will receive through my participation in the activities of Texas Tech University, I hereby expressly and knowingly RELEASE TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY, ITS OFFICERS, AGENTS, VOLUNTEERS, AND EMPLOYEES FROM ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AND CAUSES OF ACTION I MAY HAVE FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH SUSTAINED BY ME ARISING OUT OF ANY TRAVEL OR ACTIVITY CONDUCTED BY, OR UNDER THE AUSPICES OF TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY, WHETHER CAUSED BY MY OWN NEGLIGENCE OR THE NEGLIGENCE OF TEXAS TECH UNIVERSITY, ITS OFFICERS, AGENTS, VOLUNTEERS, OR EMPLOYEES, OR ANY OTHER PERSON.

Refund Policy
 
Goin' Band 2023-2024 Refund Policy

Refund of Goin' Band Fees

Students who do not make it past the Goin' Band audition must follow the steps below to request a refund of any paid band fees. Please note that refunds are not processed by the Goin' Band office, but through Texas Tech University.

1. Go to www.goinband.org and click on the Goin' Band Refund Request Form.

2. You will need to provide the student's name and TTU email, contact information of the person receiving the refund (name, mailing address, city, state, zip), and the amount of the refund request (amount will be verified).

3. Refund request must be submitted no later than Friday, August 25, 2023. No refunds will be processed after the deadline.

4. Refunds will be processed within 6-8 weeks by the University.

Refunds for Apparel

Orders and refunds for apparel are conducted through a third-party vendor, Cardinal's Sport Center. Items are due back to them by 5:00p.m. on Friday August 25, 2023. These refunds are not processed through the Goin' Band office. Please direct any questions to Tuey Rankin at Cardinal's Sport Center.
